The official WRO® theme for 2024 — Rules & Regulations for every category
In 2024, teams will learn more about how we humans affect nature, and how nature and natural events can affect us. They will investigate how robots can help us live in harmony with the natural world — can robots help us live in places where nature is dangerous or harsh, and can they assist us in living a more environmentally friendly lifestyle?
These are the official rules for the WRO Online International Final.* The RoboMission and Future Innovators categories each have a General Rules document plus a separate document for the season challenge. Clarifications and answers to questions are published on the official Questions & Answers page — those answers are an official part of the rules.
🤖 RoboMission
Robots complete missions on a themed game mat. Difficulty grows across three age divisions: Elementary, Junior, and Senior.
Elementary
🎾 RoboSports
Teams build and program robots to compete head-to-head in Double Tennis.
💡 Future Innovators
Teams research a real-world problem tied to the season theme and design an original, innovative solution.
🚗 Future Engineers
Teams build and program a self-driving vehicle to navigate an obstacle course autonomously.
